Prof. 'Wole Atoyebi

'Wole Atoyebi hails from Ila Orangun in Osun State. He obtained the MB,BS degree with Honours from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos in 1977. He bagged the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Surgery (FMCS) in 1990 and thereafter the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS). He is also a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS). He is a Consultant Surgeon at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and he was appointed an Associate Professor in 2000.

He has published over 30 scientific papers in his specialty, which is mainly in Surgical Gastroenterology and Endocrinology with special emphasis in Breast Surgery. He is an examiner for both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the West African College of Surgeons. He is currently the Faculty Secretary for the Board of Surgery at the National Post graduate Medical College of Nigeria, the President-Elect of the Nigerian Surgical Research Society and the current President of the Nigerian Medical Association.

He is married to Dr. (Mrs) Toyin Atoyebi and they are blessed with 4 children.
He is a Past President of Ultimate Circle of Nigeria.
